Office Shortcuts -- Slow To Start "IC_Clearly" <icclearly[ at ]mindspring.com> 5/31/2007 1:25:30 PM When I launch Excel or Word from a shortcut it takes forever to bring up the program (60 to 90 sec). If I launch either program and then open the document their is no delay. I have reinstalled Office, but it did not help. I am running Office 2K on an XP (SP2) machine with 2GB of memory. Any ideas? In fact, I don't believe it has ever been on the machine. I also did a system resotre back to a time that I "thought" the problem may not have existed, but that did not help either. Any other ideas? If I click directly on either, it is slow as molasses. But, if I open Excel first (no delay there) and then go to File | Open it works great -- no delay at all.
