Thread: on second page heading from a1 is truncated on repeat row

on second page heading from a1 is truncated on repeat row
babs 10/21/2008 5:20:04 PM
I have selected to repeat row 1 the correct way.
One page one it say Home Budget HOme is at the end of column a and budget
moves onto overflow into column B

I am also repeating column A(but evenif I take that away I still get the
problem)
when I go to page 2 the heading just reads HOME and the word budget is
missing
the only way it works is to widen column a and I don't want to do that.

I did the merge and center and then on page 2 don't see the title at
all?????even when say repeat rows???

Please help- teaching a class and they stumped me?

thanks so mcu

Hi Babs,

It sounds like the pages print across the worksheet and not down. It can
only print what is actually in the columns for each page. In the case of the
first page, because you are printing both columns A and B, it prints what is
in the column header for column A and also the overflow in column B. When you
get to the next page, you are repeating column A but not column B so of
course it will truncate to only what can be seen in column A.

My question is if it is not actually a column header (and the name given
suggests it is not but is a general worksheet header) why not place it in the
header which is accessed through page setup.

If it is a column header then format the row to wrap text and use two lines
in the cell so that the name is entirely contained in the cell and you do not
need to widen the column.

The following quote from your description doesn't sound quite correct to me
so are you sure this occurs?
