I have inserted a Seq field with ARABIC Identifier and \* ARABIC and it show
numbers in correct ARABIC style but
after a select all and press F9 (that causes all fileds to be updated) the
numbers change to english!

How can correct this!?

Hi Leon,

With "english" you mean they display as "One Two Three..."?

To clarify: 1, 2, 3 are called "arabic" numbers (since Europe got them from
Arabia... which in turn got them from India).

If you mean the arabic-indic digits as they are used in Arab countries, I
don't know a switch that creates them in SEQ fields. You might try \*
ArabicAbjad or \* ArabicAlpha -- which use arabic letters -- as an
alternative. I don't know any Arabic, so I can't say if that are acceptable
numbering schemes in Arab countries...

If the numbers first do display as arabic-indic numerals in your doc, but
change into western "arabic" digits when you update fields, my guess is that
the docs may come from an Arabic version of Word, and that that version
handles \* ARABIC differently?
I just tried to format some SEQ fields with "Arabic (Egypt)" as the
language, to see if the display changes, but the language keeps switching
back to "German" automatically.

Regards,
Klaus
