Compare and merge documents in Word greyed out "buffonskivitch" <u34790[ at ]uwe> 6/4/2007 5:10:23 PM Does anyone know why my compare and merge documents would be greyed out in Word? I have seen several questions answered about Excel but not Word and I am at a loss as to how to turn the option on.

It isn't an option you turn on/off - It's a feature that's available as long as conditions are right for it to be used. Once you Okay out see if the command has come back to life. If you've customized your Menus it would be better to remove the Compare & Merge command, then add it back. (If you _have_ customized your Menus you already know the where & how :)) That [hopefully] should refresh it. If the suggestion above doesn't work, however, this may be the next option to try.
