Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a limit to how many fonts Word can access
from the fonts file in Windows? I have many more fonts in the Windows
fonts file than Word allows me to use.

Under XP, there are no limits to the number of fonts that can be
installed, but very large numbers can lead to some performance issues.
MS Word has no limit.
If all you're seeing is a VERY limited set (just the basic 10 or so)
you probably need to set up a default printer that is font-capable
(that is, just about ANY printer other than the default "generic text
printer").
Here's what you should see in the Word font drop-down:
One line for every font family group of 1-4 fonts that may include
bold and italic versions. Those versions are accessed by bolding or
italicizing the text. All fonts with the "TT" Truetype icon, "O"
Opentype icon, or the small script "a" Type 1 icon should appear in
the list (except for the bold/italic variants).
Screen fonts (those with .fon in their FILE names or a red upper case
"A" as an icon) can't be used in Word and don't appear.
It's also possible, but less likely, that you have large font families
(with more than just bold and italic variants) that only appear once
in MSWord's list. These are usually the result of fonts originally
intended for use on the Mac that have been badly converted for PC use.
