Formatting ribbon menu
Neil Humphries 11/17/2008 6:11:03 PM
When my macro loads the menu into the Add-in tab, all the menu items are
strung out in a single line. Without learning XML, is there a way to control
the placement of items? I would like to stack the items in 3 columns with
between 1 and 3 items per column.

You might as well bite the bullet and start customizing the Ribbon - It is
the only way that you will achieve what you are after.

For a good place to start, see the following page of fellow MVP Greg Maxey's
website:

This is a case of the best advice being the answer I didn't want. I will be
starting from scratch with XML, and I haven't done any HTML either.

Can you recommend a good text/web site to work with? Is the XML for ribbons
any different from generic XML? Are there any particular programmers tools I
should be using?

Look at the website to which I gave you the reference and benefit from all
of the time that Greg Maxey has put into it.
