how do i set up a customer database

I am trying to set up a customer database for mailshot purposes,and label
printing.
Can anybody help me ,not very computer literate using WindowsXP with word
and excel

Either create a Word table - like that at
http://www.gmayor.com/convert_labels_into_mail_merge.htm or use Outlook.
