Word 2007 Mouse problem

Just finished installing Office2007. I have a problem with using my mouse in
Word 2007. Mouse works in the ribbon area but does not within an open
document (cannot select text or click to move within the document). Mouse
works fine in Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. Any thoughts would be
appreciated. Thanks.

I am experiencing the same problem though my version of Office 2007 was
installed by the manufacturer. I have been running it for about 6 months and
this began today. I checked the issues in the discussion "Left mouse click
does not work in Word", but that was of no help. Anyone else have a solution?

Here is the answer I found, Don, and it did fix the problem:
