Easy. It's not possible.

You may want to check out Dan Escapa's blog which has several OneNote
PowerToys including a new one which alphabetizes lists.
here is the link:

You mean "alphabetizes pages" or "alphabetizes lists"?

Actually, being able to do both would be great.

Well, you can check out the tool yourself to see exactly what it does... but
to quote from the bog, "It will sort any section's pages into alphabetical
order"

Yes, I'm familiar with it.

The OP wants to alphabetize lists.

Is that the same as alphabetizing pages (which is what the Powertoy does)?

I've been waiting a couple of years for an automatic method to alphabetize
Section Tabs via the OneNote UI.

Nothing yet. No Powertoys either :-(

Yes i realize there is a difference. I just thought i would offer an option
for alphabetizing within OneNote.

Thanks Daniel. That looks good but I must be missing something.

I want to sort Sections alphabetically within a Notebook (within the OneNote
UI).

That Powertoy, as good as it is, sorts Pages within Sections - which I
definitely do not want to do.

Our pages are manually sorted in a specific, non-alphabetical, order.

I cannot see that the Sort Pages Powertoy sorts Sections unless you can show
me something I'm missing.

I wish it did.

I had high hopes when I discovered it but they were soon dashed.

Oh. OK, thanks. I didn't realise.

I thought terms were simply being used interchangeably.

There seems to be various ideas on sorting alphabetically in this thread

Lists, pages, sections.......

:-)

More people who want the sort sections in a notebook. I am working on
refactoring my sort pages code to do this for the notebook.

It is actually just the same code with some small tweaks, I think I got it
but I have some setup issues. Hopefully next weekend I can spend sometime
to work on it.

That would seriously be a godsend for us, Daniel.

Hope you can get it working to sort Sections alphabetically within a
Notebook.
