Rob Derby UK 12/31/2008 5:34:00 AM
My PC crashed so I had to recover it. Have installed Office 2003 and Outlook
is not lettign me set up the accounts. When I go tools>email accounts I get
"the operation failed due to registry or instalation problems" Have used the
repair tool andf have also doen a full uninstall and re-install. When I
restart my PC I get"unable to locate component BTTRAY.EXE and then his
application has failed to start ( I don't know which one)because wbtapi.dll
was not found. Thanks

Neither the bttray.exe nor wbtapi.dll are native Outlook files.

Examine what addins you have that integrate with Outlook, remove them, and
try a repair installation of Outlook.

Failing that, uninstall the applications that use those files, reboot, then
uninstall Office and reboot again. Then try the install of Office again.

Not sure what add-ins I have as I have just installed everything from scratch
so it cannot be anything I have installed, are some add-ins pre-installed ? I
have done a re-install and the problem is still there? Any other ideas?

Rob Derby UK,
A google search of the files that you mentioned:
1. bttray.exe
2. wbtapi.dll

Have to do with the Bluetooth devices that you have installed on your PC. You
may need to reinstall drivers/software for those devices.
