can you print only one label from a label template?

I downloaded a gift label template for avery 5161 (20 1" x 4" labels per
sheet) but i can't find out how to print just one label at a time

delete other labels. cut and paste on the label position. print manually.

The short answer is that you can't. Label templates are designed to produce
a complete page of labels or be used as a mail merge document.
Depending in the template, you may be able to extract the graphics for a
single label and save as an autotext entry. You could then use the method
shown at http://www.gmayor.com/graphics_on_labels.htm to add the autotext to
the label editor.
