Word wont let me start numbering on second page using help tips
zldstar 12/12/2008 1:51:02 AM
I have followed the help guides for page numbering, however word wont let me
execute the command of entering 0 at 'starts at' to commence numbering on a
second page and also won't let me change numbering part way through a
document. I can't break the document into separate files so if anyone has
any ideas how to get around this I would be very grateful

The zero setting is not available if you are using roman numerals. But even
setting numbering to start at 0 wont suppress the number on the first page;
you'll need to enable "Different first page" and leave the First Page
Header/Footer empty. You might want to look at
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Numbering/PageNumbering.htm and perhaps
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/NumberingFrontMatter.htm or
http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/front_matter_2007.htm, as
applicable.
