Word takes 10 minutes reconfiguring every time a file is opened

Every time I open a file after booting up, Word take about 10 minutes
configuring itself. Once it's up and running it seems to be OK.

Is there any way to make it remember that it's been installed already?

What version of Word are you using and what operating system is installed on
your computer?

Have a look at the registry fix on my site at
http://uksbsguy.com/blogs/doverton/archive/2007/07/21/how-to-get-rid-of-the-installer-configuration-dialog-when-running-office-2007-and-office-2003-on-the-same-system-for-vista-and-other-versions-of-windows.aspx
- it will often fix the problem.

thanks

David
