XP SP3 and Access 97

I realize that maybe nobody cares about this except me, so just ignore
this if it doesn't apply to you. We use a Microsoft Access 97 .MDE for
some data entry, and we have a date field that calls the Monthview
control from an Access form. It has been working fine under Windows XP
SP2, but under XP SP3, the calendar comes up blank. We are now trying
to uninstall SP3 to see if that fixes the problem. I can't find
anything in the documentation for SP3 that points to MSCOMCT2.OCX, but
maybe I missed it. Killbits? Re-register?

Try using the all-API calendar Stephen Lebans has at
http://www.lebans.com/monthcalendar.htm instead.

Hi ,

This is Mark, a SQL Server/access engineer. I'm glad to assist you with the
issue.

The Office97 has been out of our service. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for our
customers to upgrade the office97 to office2000, office2003 or office2007
to get full support by Microsoft. For more information about the
product/service pack lifecycle, please refer to:
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifeoffice/en-us

Besides, based on my expeirence, to upgrade the office97 might be able to
resolve the issue.

Hope the above helpful.

Best regards,
Mark Han

I was mistaken in my initial post. The problem was due to a change in
our PC setup. We did not realize that the MSCOMCT2.OCX file was being
installed by a third-party program that we recently stopped using. The
failure was completely unrelated to XP SP3. Thank you to all who took
time to read and to respond.
