John, can't give a definitive answer about the macros but I do know that in
previous Office version upgrades we have done in our school, macros and
especially programming did not always convert and work the way you would
expect. Auto-text should work pretty much as before. If you can't install
the '07 product side-by-side and run that way with the 2000 macros instead
of upgrading see my last paragraph.

Unfortunately, that is a really big jump in versions so I would guess that
incompatibility would be more in your upgrade than say a 2000-2003 upgrade
would be as the newest version of the software has a totally different user
interface and other significant changes. YMMV with any change.

What I would recommend is to do a full clone of the hard drive, with
software such as Acronis True Image, as it is before you make the upgrade.
Do the upgrade and if it doesn't convert appropriately clone the drive back
to the way it was before the upgrade. That way you wouldn't have lost
anything other than some time.

Thanks. I have an old computer that I might try what you said on.
