Set file type default for Word?
Sophie 12/25/2008 2:23:01 PM
I'm used to using Word on Windows XP (2003-07). Now that I'm stuck with
Vista on my laptop, I'm sick of having to bypass the "wps" file type every
time I save or resave my word documents. How do I set it to ALWAYS use and
save as .doc file?

Vista is an operating system?
wps is the file format for Works.
What is the word processor that you are having problems with?
If it is Word 2007 then to change the default file format - Office button >
Word Options > Save > Save files in this format - set to Word Document or
Word 97-2003 document.
Works has no option to set the default file format that I am aware of.
