This is probably because you have chosen to open the default "My
Notebooks" folder as your "work folder." Note that "My Notebooks" is
plural. You should create other subfolders under the "My Notebooks"
folder which will be opened as separate notebooks. Place all the onenote
files except the "Unfiled Notes" file in one of those subfolders. Then
the "unfiled notes" section will be left sitting by itself in the root of
the "My Notebooks" folder. It will not show up in your other notebook
folders because it is not in any of them.
