If I search for "111" (without quotes), then OneNote will find the word "111Windows" but not "Windows111". Can anyone verify that? I use the little search within box in OneNote 2007, but I have Windows Desktop Search v3.01 installed.

Is it with typed text or handwritten Ink where you see this problem? If it is with Ink, if you navigate to where one of your unfound "Windows111" entries is, can you right-click on the Ink to see what the best guess that OneNote applied to that text?

It's regular typed text. It's easy to try - can you replicate it?
Best regards

It's regular typed text. Are you able to replicate it?

Ok - Just saw this and verified that I can re-pro it. I think you found a bug. Do you have access to Connect? If so, can you bug it there and post back with the number? (If you don't have access, let me know and I will bug it)

Good to hear! Yes, this is now submitted through MS Connect. It has ID 275220.

The issue is more generalized than described. When given any search string, OneNote only returns words that begin with the search string. It isn't an issue limited to numbers and letters. I noted this in a validation comment on Connect.

Just tried that, and yes I can repro it. As you noted, it is more generalized and not related to numbers.
If the bug has been logged on Connect, the ON dev team *will* see it and begin investigating.
