Hi,
I am running the trial version of OneNote 2007. Am trying to install ON
Mobile on my smartphone to test that out as well. Everything goes fine till I
try to complete the installation by selecting a location for installation on
the phone and then pressing 'done'. I then get a message on the phone
"Installation failed. The program or setting cannot be installed because it
does not have adequate system permissions".
Anyone go any answers to this?

experienced this. I am v. keen to check out syncing with my smartphone, why
can I not get OneNote to install?

I haven't seen this before to be honest with you. Have you been able to
install other applications?
Are you in Europe and running with an Orange Mobile phone? They don't
support the Mobile2Market digital signature on the phone and that might
cause the installation error. Please let us know.

Hi there, thanks for your helpful reply.
To answer your questions:
Installing other applications has been fine - I use Smartphone Notes for
example without any problems. ActiveSync works fine and sync with WMP11 is
also fine.
Yes I was in Europe and I do have an Orange phone - an SPVC500, though I am
now in NZ and phone is SIM unlocked and I have a Vodafone NZ SIM card in it.
Hope this is useful - if you need to know anything else just ask.

Did you flash your phone when you got to NZ? Did Vodafone put a new ROM
image on the phone or did you only swap out the SIM chip? If you only did
the SIM chip I think you might still have the Orange image on the phone
which doesn't accept Mobile2Market apps.
I think that is your problem...

Hi,
No I just swapped the SIM, I still have Orange SIM which I use when back in
the UK.
If you think lack of support for mobile2market apps is the problem, is there
a solution?

Yes I believe that is your issue. The phone is locked down so that it will
only run signed apps that are approved by your provider. The standard
system for doing this is the Mobile2Market certificate which covers most of
the carriers, save for Orange.
You could try and do something like unlocking you device (application lock)
but that isn't recommended and I am still not sure that would solve your
problem. Sorry for the trouble...
