BCM and home network
"misschrisp via OfficeKB.com" <u47588[ at ]uwe> 11/23/2008 2:08:19 AM
Hi,

Recently installed BCM on 2 machines w/XP. They both can see the shared
database thru BCM but since installed, neither can see the home network
anymore. Have tried all the usual stuff with no success. Any ideas?

Thanks,

K

I know that by default, Windows Home has something called Simple File
and Print Sharing. That changes all connection requests to be from
user Guest with no password. Turning on BCM turns off this feature.
With it turned off, all folder shares and printers need to be shared
explictly -- you need to explicitly share folders and printer with
specific users.
