Either I'm really blind, or it's not an easy-to-find feature.. lol How do align text to the right, or center, or justify?
I can barely find any text formatting similar to the rest of the office applications :( I currently type my notes in Word because I can format them really nicely... but in OneNote, everything is left-aligned, and there's not much customization when it comes to formatting.

Forgot to add I'm using OneNote 2007. :)

It's horses for courses, really. OneNote gives you the basics: bold, underline, italic, indents, bullets, fonts, and so forth. It is really intended as a "note taker" and general information marshaller - sexy page layout isn't really within it's remit, especially as the content is not primarily targeted at print.
I believe there is a way of making feature suggestions to the OneNote team, although I've lost the link (perhaps someone else can help). If enough people ask for an improvement, we may well get it.
Personally I'm happy enough with OneNote's text formatting features as they are. Like you, I use Word if I want something to look really smart.

Pls don't forget what ON is and what not. It definitely is not a fully blown Wordprocessor. It's an instrument for notetaking. And for the letter only a certain limited set of formatting features is needed.
What ON offers in so far: Left align Ctrl+L Right align Ctrl+R Center a paragraph Ctrl+E
Pls also see "Key combinations" (the second item in the "Help" drop-down menu.
It does not offer "Justify".

IMO justified text really is not needed for notetaking. It's far better that width of a container (and by this the length of the lines) can easily be changed by just dragging the border.

The LIST item under the task pane also provides some very basic alignment and spacing choices, even if you do not have a numbered or bulleted list.

Yes, there is a place for submitting (b) bugs and (b) suggestions and reaching the development team: Connect: http://connect.microsoft.com/onenote/ While some developers come to visit this forum more or less regularly, the official website for suggestions is Connect. Using this channel things are entered in a database system with sophisticated features. And the system is "open" so that other users can comment suggestions etc.
Therefore: When done with a posting in Connect, one may drop a note with the URL in here so that others can jump in and vote for your suggestion

To be honest, it's looking worrying quiet on there. Some of the blogs haven't been touched for months, and no recent bugs or suggestions have been responded to by the team.
I wonder if they've drifted off onto other projects.....

Thanks Rainald!! This is exactly what I was looking for! I guess ON has some 'hidden' features that are only accessible via keystrokes.. I should look more into those.
:)

Thanks guys! especially Rainald.. those keyboard shortcuts are exactly what I needed.
Yes, I understand ON is meant for notetaking and not fancy notes like Word... I was just simply asking for text alignment.. because of the various courses I have, some require aligning to the right or center. Those keystrokes worked :)
Any other kind of formatting would be 'nice to haves'

De nada. That's what we are here for ;-)

If interested in all available commands and wanting to customize your toolbars and menus look here: View | Toolbars | Customize,. In the applet select the tabbed page "Commands", then scroll down in the "Categories" list and select "All Commands". Look and get excited ;-)
Rainald P.S. Pls excuse me should some of terms not be correct, it's my translation from my German speaking ON.

My understanding is, (1) they have not moved on to other projects, at least not en masse; (2) they read the messages on Connect =and= here on the newsgroup fairly regularly; and (3) are busy actually coding= the new version to spend too much time answering questions on the newsgroups, blogs and elsewhere. This is the main purpose of the MVP program, or at least from my understanding that's the case.

I LOVE YOU! I know ON is not a full blown word processor, but you know, it's the ONLY word processor I've found that actually does stuff I want in a word processor such as, type anywhere on the page, put any picture on the page etc. The only thing I felt it really needed was the alignment. I should go look for more keyboard shortcuts, as you suggested. thank you very very much!
