Thanks Erik,
I seem to have tracked down the problem so as to be able to give some more concrete information. It appears to be the case that my 'OneNote\Unclassified Notes' folder (sorry, don't know the exact designation since I'm using the German version of OneNote) is write-protected for all profiles except when I log in as administrator - notwithstanding the fact that I have cleared the write-protect flag in the Windows Explorer. May it be something do with anything going wrong when converting from an earlier version to OneNote 2007? I remember there appeared a message regarding write-protection when I converted my OneNote 2003 notebooks to 2007.
