HELP PLEASE!
RYAN 5/23/2007 12:21:01 PM
We are currently running Windows 2000

Just recently we installed a new version of a program called Sage Timberline
Office and now...
At startup this error occurs:

SQL SERVER
SQL Server could not find the default instance (MSSQLSERVER) - please
specify the name of an existing instance on the invocation of sqlserver.exe.
If you believe that your installation is corrupt or has been tampered with,
uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.

After startup the SQL Server Service Manager is stopped and cannot be started.

I tried to uninstall and even tried to repair the problem with the repair
tool but the uninstall will not process, the same error message appears when
this is attempted.

What can I do to correct this problem?

I suggest you contact the software vendor's technical support. This group
addresses issues with the Microsoft Office product, and you're unlikely to
find other users of the Sage product here. Your error message indicates a
problem with SQL Server, but I'm guessing the SQL Server instance in
question is installed with the Sage product and/or the issue is in the new
version of the Sage product.

Sage tech support:

If your SQL Server is a separate product installed by you, post here (with
additional details such as the edition and version of SQL Server you are
using):
