Convert ruler, etc. from metric to inches in Office 2007 ...
BJ Lohm 4/22/2007 11:52:03 PM
All my measurements in Office 2007 appear as cm and I would prefer inches. I
installed it as English(Canada) but changed it to English(United States)
assuming that would correct the problem but it hasn't. Any help would be
appreciated.

have you checked the regional settings in Windows?

Yes, I did change the regional settings ....in fact according to my computer,
I now live in the States. Your answer prompted me to uninstall and
reinstall Office after I had made the changes. Now Excel displays in inches
but Word still displays in cm. It doesn't make sense to me. Thanks for your
help.

Hi BJ,

In Word use the Options menu (Alt,T,O,A) and in the Advanced section scroll down to the 'Display' section to set the
"Show measurement units in..."
box. Word uses its own settings to override the system settings.

Hi Bob,

Thank you! I am now happily using inches :-) The shortcut didn't seem to
work but I found Options by clicking on the Office icon. The new version
looks vastly different so I may be calling for help again ... it is good to
know this group is here.

Thanks again,
Bev
