Did you use the trial version or the beta? The beta is the one that expired on 3/31, so my guess is you had the beta. If you had the beta, why are you complaining? Betas have bugs and are not too be used in a production environment (using them in such an environment actually violates the license agreement you agreed to when installing). It's not Microsoft's fault that you decided to install a beta version on your computer. Also, these are peer supported newsgroups. Microsoft doesn't get your angry message here, only fellow users do.
I would say you prob. only have problems with Outlook. The rest of the Office 2003 suite should be fine. In the Outlook main window, right-click on some empty space next to the menu or toolbar and select Customize. Switch to toolbars, pick Standard and hit Reset. Say yes. You should also do the same in the windows where you don't see the buttons. I am thinking this will fix your problems. If not, post back.
