To Large a document?

I have a document on 276 pages of wich I want to add pagenumbering. The
problem is, that after 251 pages it starts all over again from 1, and it wont
even show pages after 251 pages.

Is there such a low document size limit?, or is there a way for me to solve
this problem?

There is no practical limit on document size other than available memory and
disk space. My guess is that what you're encountering are section breaks
that redefine the way paging is done. Take a look here for information on
how to control page numbering:
