Expand / Collapse Feature
Rebecca 12/17/2008 3:34:11 PM
Greetings. I am learning how to use a wiki these days, and with the
particular software I am using (ConnectedText), there is a very useful
feature that I once knew how to do in Word but I forget, and I believe the
file had to be saved as html.

I am currently using VISTA and MS Word 2007.

Anyway, you have undoubtedly noticed the + and - squares that can be
expanded and collapsed when necessary on certain web pages and in certain
documents.

I would like to have several pages in MS Word with blocks of data that can
be collapsed / hidden and expanded when necessary (by clicking on the + and -
icons). Could the experts on this forum please tell me in simple English how
this can be done, or could you provide me with some leads as to where I can
find out how to do this? Thanks.

It can be done if you are using the Outline View and have styled the document
using outline levels (paragraph formatting).

To see how this works, open a new document and before typing anything switch
to Outline View. You will see that you are now using Heading One style. There
will be a plus symbol beside the paragraph.

Add different heading levels and then you can expand and collapse.
