Why can't Desktop Google search fine a renamed file?

I use Desktop search a lot. I just discovered that if a file has been
renamed, nothing in that file will show up on Desktop search? Why is that?

Google Desktop Search (and most other desktop search apps) require their
index to update before they return a hit. By default the indexing will only
run after a certain time of CPU inactivity or by a manual request. Until the
index is refreshed, any changes to file content, file names, new files, etc.
will not be reflected.
One tip, usually Windows Explorer will find the changes if no index refresh
has occured.
Hope this helps
