can't find my previous notes

help!!! i've been using one-note for one week now, and it was fantastic. but
today, i couldn't find anything!!! all my lecture notes had disappeared. i
had backed-up my notes yesterday, so i tried to restore the back-up, but it
keeps coming up as read-only, no matter what i do. what do i do? any help
would be so so appreciated

Q1: are you using OneNote 2003 or OneNote 2007?

Aloha Jennifer,

Did you back them up to a CD or DVD by any chance? If you find them in your
file system (with Windows Explorer) you might try right-clicking them and
choosing properties, then check and see if they are flagged as Read-Only.

Backups are always read-only. You should find the one you want, then copy it
to where you notebooks are stored and then you'll be able to edit it.
