Opening Files with Windows Explorer
Daylilylaura 11/28/2008 1:40:30 PM
Our company is still using Office 2003 but I have Office 2007 on my laptop as
well for preview purposes. I often use the Windows Explorer to open files,
but it defaults to Office 2007. How do I set the default to open in 2003? I
want to keep both suites on laptop but open in the older version routinely.
Thanks for any help you can offer. Daylilylaura.

Thats the default behavior, open the 2003 component then open the file
2007 opens and can create files in the old format

While I don't have an in-Office fix for that problem, I can tell you how to
do so in Windows XP.
Start>Control Panel>Folder Options>File Types.

Once there, find .PPT, .PPS, and .POT and change them to open with Microsoft
PowerPoint 2003.
