Proper Way To Backup BCM

What exactly is the proper way to backup BCM? I'm using Outlook 2007

1) File - Import & Export - BCM For Outlook - Export To A File

or

2) Business Contact Manager - Database Tools - Manage Database - Backup
Database

What is the better method and what is the difference between the two? They
both produce a .sbb file.

Also, could you also tell me the proper way to backup my Outlook itself. I
have always been doing: File - Import & Export - Outlook - Export To A File

I have seen lesser problem when the data is exported using the Export
options

There is a difference in the file extensions , export creates an *.bcm file
and backup creates an *.sbb file

the later is a compressed file and occupies less space
