I have registered onenote 2003 on a computer that has died - is there any way
I can deregister it and install on a different machine - or do I have to buy
a new copy?

You should just try and reinstall it and that should work. When you
activate your product you can see if this worked without a problem, if you
do have any problems just call the activation line and explain your
situation and they should be able to help you.

I haven't done this personally but that is what I heard should happen.
