----------------------- We have an internal email distribution list where people can ask questions to the OneNote product team and over the past months there have been a few emails about this error:
OneNote requires Microsoft Windows Tablet PC Edition 2005 with Service Pack 2 in order for inking functions to work properly. You can install Service Pack 2 from the Windows product pages on the Microsoft Web site.
When this occurs this is just because of an unregistered DLL and you can fix it by doing the following:
1. open up a command prompt (on Vista make sure it is an elevated command prompt) 2. cd "%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Ink" 3. "regsvr32 /s inkobj.dll" 4. Close and restart OneNote
This should fix the problem you are having. Ideally you should never see this but I am hoping that by blogging this if you search on Windows Live or Google you will see this link and you can fix your problem : ) -----------------------
Does this work??
