Business Contact Manager install issues
kevanh 6/12/2007 7:12:02 AM
I have seen the following:

1. Business Contact Manager wizard failing to create the database due to a
invalid key issue. Using Office Professional 2007 Trial with Office Basic
2007 key.
"Database creation was unsuccessful because you do not have a valid
Microsoft Office 2007 license to use Business Contact Manager for Outlook
2007."

2. If installing the trial version of Office 2007 the second download of
Business Contact Manager fails due to SQL Express 2005 not having SP2
applied. The re-install of the product is not smart enough to know that SQL
Express is already installed & re-installs the pre SP2 version.

Any assistance would be helpful!

1. I suspect that BCM finds the Office Basic key and stops because BCM
is not supposed to work with that release of Office. That overrides
the Pro Trial key.

Thanks,
I also suspect that since BCM is a separate install whether CD or download
it is best to put in the key after the software has been installed. I
resolved the second issue this way.
