saving to print file - *.prn ... how do I print it?
"Dave Horne" <davehorne[ at ]home.nl> 10/28/2008 6:19:42 PM
Instead of printing the document I saved it to file and it was given the prn
extension. Just now I went to print it and Windows could not open it. I
'associated' it with Word and still nothing.

Perhaps I don't understand how this works. I assumed that by printing to
'file', I could then print the document at a later date.

This is not a major issue as I will open the *.doc ducument and print it
from there.

Thanks, DH

It is no longer a Word file. All you need to do is drag and drop it onto
your printer Icon.

Suggestion: Print to a .pdf file the next time. ;-)

Printing to the printer directly from the document is going to be much the
easiest way.

If you want to know about printing from a .prn file (which is just a capture
of the binary data that would otherwise have been sent over the wire to the
printer), see http://filext.com/faq/print_from_prn_file.php.
