I take it you really do mean 'attached' and not as the body of the e-mail? HTML used for formatted e-mail does not support headers. If you are attaching the document file are any graphics in the letter head embedded in the document or are they linked? If you want to ensure that the document you send is what the recipient will see, convert to PDF and attach that. PrimoPDF is free and competent if you don't already have a PDF conversion application.
