Spelling AutoCorrect is disabled
vickiz 12/6/2008 4:02:02 AM
My spelling AutoCorrect got disabled, and it won't turn back on through the
"Word options" button. Any suggestions on how to turn it on? Do I have to
reload the software?
Thanks!

I take it this is Word 2007?

Can you be more specific about WHAT is disabled? (Spelling and AutoCorrect are
two different things.)

And in what way does "disabled" manifest itself?

Spelling and AutoCorrect are language-sensitive. Are you sure the document
where you're seeing the problem is formatted with the correct language? (You
should be able to see the language in the status bar. If you don't see it,
right-click the status bar and activate that option.)

Thank you so much for your reply. I figured it out. I had to go through Word
Options>add-ins>manage disabled items. It turns out the spellcheck had gotten
disabled, so I reinstated it.
Thanks!
