Are you previewing the merge, instead of either outputting it to the printer or to a new document? In Word 2002/2003, with the Mail Merge Wizard, you have to take one of the actions in the very last task pane (Pane 6, I think). It sounds like all that you are doing is previewing the results and printing that.
