TOC won't update
MargaretA 12/11/2008 3:58:00 PM
I have my TOC 1, 2, and 3 set to normal. I have styles applied to my
Headings 1, 2, and 3. When I "Select All", click F9, and choose to update
the TOC, nothing happens. I've successfully used this method for
years....what could I be doing wrong today? Thanks!

It's possible that at some point, with the cursor in the TOC or with
everything selected, you accidentally pressed either Ctrl+F11 or Ctrl+3.
Both of those are default shortcuts for the LockFields command, which
prevents the selected fields from updating.

With the cursor in the TOC, try pressing Ctrl+Shift+F11 (the UnlockFields
command) and then F9.
