Word 2000

When I use Word it puts a - between all words plus it puts the paragraph sign
on the left of all of my blank lines plus at the end of a sentence. Yet when
I print the document it looks normal.

And you get an arrow when you press the tab key? You should see a ¶ on the
toolbar (there were toolbars in 2000 weren't there?) which should toggle on
and off these non-printing marks.
