business contacts manager with SQL 2005
Diggers 2/20/2007 5:27:13 PM
Hello,

I have outlook 2007 with BCM running on vista ultimate in a domain. I have
the database installed on sql 2005 on a win 2003 server in the same domain.
Bu when I try and connect to the Db from BCM I get the following

"cannot find any Business Contact Manager databases on computer"

I would appreciate it if you could post a solution.

Thanks

Colm

Check to see if port 5356 is opened. I had the same problem and it was a
port issue...

To open it, I need to do enable the TCP/IP and then enter 5356 in the
properties section, correct? Or do I need to open it somewhere else aswell?

I went into SQL Server Management Studio on the SBS and enabled it there.
I'm not near that server now so I can't tell you exactly where...

HTH,
Lon

Be sure to open that TCP port on your server's firewall, if you are
running a firewall on that machine.
