default save setting won't stay "BK" <nospam[ at ]nospam.com> 10/27/2008 11:21:30 AM Using Word 2007. I have set the default "save as" option to Word 2003. It works fine during any one session, but when I exit Word and come back in, the default is back to the .docx setting. What am I missing???

This will also be the file type selected as the default if you use Save As on an existing document to save it under another name. One of those options is the default file type which is .docx and I change it to .doc and click okay. It remains set to .doc until I exit Word. When I re-open Word, the default file type is back to the Word 2007 extension of .docx "Suzanne S.
