Office 2007 Enterprise applications Configuration screen on Vista
CaraHar 4/18/2007 1:02:00 AM
Hello,
I'm new to the forum and am in dire need of help with the most annoying
problem in the world!!!! I've installed Office 2007 Enterprise Edition on
Windows Vista. This was a completely CLEAN INSTALL for both Vista and
Office. Problem: EVERYTIME I start any Office 2007 app (word, excel, etc..)
I get a screen that states "Please wait while windows configures Office 2007
Enterprise"... a progress bar goes by.. then I get a larger screen that says
basically the same thing but takes a lot longer to complete the progress bar
on this window. (hope this is making sense). I've tried running the office
apps as administrator and I have tried a re-install of Office and the problem
persists. I have looked on all the websites I can google and no help
(although, according to multiple websites, the problem also seemed to happen
on WinXP and Office 2003- the solution for that didn't work for me on Vista
and Office 2007) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE (grovel grovel) Help!????

Thanks for any help!

Hi,

I installed it on Vista (with UAC turned off) and do not see this problem.

If you see the Microsoft Installer when starting Office, it usually
means it can't find information in the User Profile. Every new user will
see this the first time they log on. Once they've entered their "user
details" they should NOT see the installer anymore. It's possible Office
is having trouble writing data to your user profile, not sure why?

Best thing to do is look at your Event logs in detail, you should see a
bunch off related errors that coincide with the exact time you started
Office. Post the exact text here.

Hi,

Thanks Gerry,

I have excactly the same issue, also with office enterprise 2007
when opening any application it first loads a regular setup bar, you
normally only see only, and ather that i get "Please wait while windows
configures Office 2007
Enterprise" for about 4-5 minutes!! Then the application opens. Very
annoying...!

Please help!

Should I reinstall with UAC turned on?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Neither of you have posted the information from your Event logs as I
requested below, so it's hard to help...

It's possible this is related to the "EULA" pop-up problem described
elsewhere in this forum. I've not seen either problem on my systems YET!
