Cannot Share Database
Jamie 10/23/2008 1:50:01 AM
Hello,
I've been trying for hours to get my database shared but I keep getting the
message “Cannot access the database server on computer xyz.”
I followed the instructions found in Help, various websites and here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/bcm/archive/2007/04/25/how-to-share-a-business-contact-manager-2007-database.aspx
I checked the firewall settings and made sure port 5356 and File and Printer
Sharing had an exception, followed all the SQL Server setting instructions in
the forementioned MSDN blog and installed all updates and service packs for
Outlook/BCM 2007 and SQL Server 2005. Still get the error message!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you,
Jamie

The address is entered correctly. A completly different error message
appears if an invalid address is entered. I can ping the BCM server.

Sorry about the previous multiple replies!

Thanks,
