AutoCorrect document "James_Mann" <u48225[ at ]uwe> 12/16/2008 7:11:01 PM I recently backed up an AutoCorrect document to move it to another machine. However, when it was backed-up, some of the cells got out of place due to spaces. After I manually went through to move the values to the correct cells and saved it, I get an error saying that the file is in incorrect format to restore AutoCorrect when I attempt to restore it on the new machine.

Did you try restoring the file before you modified it? Chances are it would have restored the AutoCorrect entries without making any additional changes. If you did try restoring the file and encountered errors can you expand on what you mean by "the cells got out of place due to spaces"? Can you provide an example? Also what utility did you use to create the backup? When I checked that page, I noticed at that point it had start to get out of place, the Value of either True or False was no longer in the third cell, and had been moved down so that it was in the 2nd cell on the next line down. If you encountered an error than it's likely not creating the entries correctly, aside from the out of place cells. If you have access to the computer then use the revised utility which can be downloaded from here: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/ExportAutocorrect.htm IIRC, what you describe is the type of errors that were corrected in the revised add-in.
