Then all the the profiles are pointing to the same database, no?
Try creating a new profile with a new database. Verify that its profile points to the new database, and an old profile points to the old database, by checking the database names in Control Panel/Mail. Now open an old profile with the old database, and restore the backup again. Check the new profile in Control Panel/Mail. Did the database name in the new profile change?
