Old Document Draft
JimH 12/8/2008 12:40:00 AM
I have an older document (2003) that shows 2 pages on the main page format
but the draft format selection shows six or seven pages. How can I get the
full multi-page version activated?

Thank you,

Sounds like your Zoom is set to a pretty small number? Change it to
100%.

To clarify, are you describing the number of pages you see displayed on the
screen or the length of the document you can view one page at a time?

When I open the document I see the first page normally, with a blank second
page, no other pages. If I select the DRAFT view I see the full document of
six /seven pages depending on formatting.

If the content is a table, it may be that you have inadvertently nudged it
and made it wrapped, and wrapped objects can't extend over more than one
page. Go to the Table tab of Table Properties and set the text wrapping to
None.

If it's not a table, trying going to Format | Columns and clicking on the
preset picture for One (even if 1 column is already selected), then OK.

I'm sorry, I just realized I neglected to state that I'm trying to retrieve
this Old Document in the Word 2007 For Office and Students version.

The Table Properties dialog will be the same in Word 2007. It's accessed via
the Properties button in the Table group on the Table Tools Layout tab. To
access the Columns dialog, use Page Layout | Page Setup | Columns.

I finally saved the Draft version in Word 2007 .txt format and then opened it
in Word 20007. Voila! I can now edit/format and all the stuff. Thank you very
much for your help.
