Whenever I try to start OneNote 2007, the following error message pops up:
OneNote is unable to start. This may be caused by insufficient hard drive space or by insufficient write permissions for OneNote's cache files in your user settings folder. Try to delete any unnecessary files from your computer and then try starting OneNote again. If this message persists, contact your system administrator.
Please help! I have 40 GB of space left on my hard drive. I am running Windows XP Tablet PC edition, Service Pack 3

Are you an Administrator an this PC?
If no, try: Navigate to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 Right click the OneNote.exe file and select Run As... Enter the credentials for an account that is an administrator for that PC.

Hello David,
Thank you for getting back to me. I just finished finals week (which was rather difficult with my ON issues!) and now I have more time to devote to this problem. I am the administrator on this computer and I tried your suggestion, but the same error message keeps popping up.
I would appreciate any other help or suggestions; thank you in advance.

It may be related to your Antivirus: 1. disconnect from the network 2. disable your antivirus 3. attempt to start OneNote 4. reenable your antivirus

Wow, thank you for the very fast response. Unfortunately, though, it didn't work... The same error message keeps popping up.

Do you have the drive split into a C & D drive? If yes, what is the capacity of each drive?
Have you run: Menu: Help-Office Diagnostics...?
