Failure to install Office 2007 trial
"Aristobulus" <ofst3d[ at ]gmail.com> 3/23/2007 8:07:27 PM
I have failed to install Office 2007 trial because I had had installed the
Beta version.
I have followed the very complex instructions at art ID 927222 to no avail.
Will the commercial version of this have the same problem? I want to use
Office 2007 alongside Office 2003 - is that my problem? Can the two not be
installed together albeit in different folders?

Hi David,

Office 2003 and Office 2007 (except having two versions of Outlook) can exist side by side.

What is the exact error message you are getting when you try to install the trial edition and on which version of Windows.

Thanks for that - On trying to install Office 2007 I get:

"The 2007 Microsoft Office system does not support upgrading from a
prerelease version of the 2007 Microsoft Office system. You must first
uninstall any prerelease versions of the 2007 Microsoft Office system
products and associated technologies.
Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup."

I have followed the uninstallation of the beta version with the lengthy
instructions in ID 927222
but to no avail.

This was a downloaded trial version - does it mean I can't buy the full
version?

I am using Win Xp Pro

David
