Word 2007
Nedcaban 12/11/2008 9:44:24 PM
my Word 2007 screen will not stay where I am typing. It keeps returning to
the first paragraph in my new document. What am I doing wrong? I am typing
on an Acer Aspire One laptop. It doesn't happen when I type on my desk top.

You're accidentally brushing your trackpad? or it's very sensitive?
See if you can tone it down in your system controls, or disable it if
a mouse is plugged in.

Brushing my track pad by mistake was my first thought. But that doesn't
explain why Word takes me back to the initial paragraph every time. Plus, I
tried to replicate the action, taking great care not to brush the touch pad,
and it still took me back to the initial paragraph (it seems to require that
I am at least one full screen away from the first paragraph). Ned

I have just realized that my cursor remains with the sentence on which I am
working. It is only the screen view that shows me the initial paragraph. If
I keep typing (without seeing what I am typing) the screen eventually reverts
to where my cursor is. Ned

See if the manufacturer will download you a new screen driver?
